According to a recent breakdown by the Integrative Psychology Institute, approximately 10.6% of therapists in the United States identify as Asian. Other workforce analyses focused specifically on licensed mental-health counselors report a lower figure of approximately 3.2%.

Because the Asian and Asian-American population in the United States significantly exceeds these proportions, increasing cultural and linguistic representation among healthcare providers remains an important public health consideration.

Within her legal scope of practice as a doctor of acupuncture, Dr. Katherine Echo Kim provides multiculturally sensitive, mind-body–informed counseling and treatments, grounded in more than 25 years of clinical experience.
